BERNARD'S TRAVEL DIARY:  2001
Cape Town

A first venture into South Africa

It was mid-summer, and very hot!

I booked an apartment by email from Cape Town Tourism, who were very helpful. My apartment was in in a high-rise block on the northern edge of Cape Town, right over a shopping mall.

You could walk into the centre of town, but it only cost about 30p in a shared taxi!
